One Ally
So how well has it been going, going it alone? Where have you been trying to change, hidden and in isolation? I recently read these powerful words in Chesterton’s The Man Who Was Thursday: “…there are no words to express the abyss between isolation and having one ally. It may be conceded to the mathematicians that four is twice two. But two is not twice one; two is two thousand times one.”
Two thousand times one! I’ve found that when I’ve tried to change alone, it was painful and ineffective. Finding just one ally was a game-changer—both for the experience along the way and for the results.
This week, I invite you to ask yourself:
Where in my life do I feel most isolated? Who could be one ally that could accompany me in this area? By when will I reach out to this ally for a conversation?
God bless,
Dan
