The Crossroad Question
“What is the crossroad at which I find myself at this point in my life?” This is one of my new favorite coaching questions. I found it in the book The Answer to How Is Yes by Peter Block. Here are some reasons why I love it:
It generates focus, allowing you to zero in on a valuable challenge or dilemma.
It frames things as a story, a drama about two or more possible paths.
It allows you to explore where different paths might lead.
It sets you up to be able to make a decision about which path you will take.
This week, I invite you to ask yourself:
What is the crossroad at which I find myself at this point in my life? Where might the paths lead? What are the costs involved with each path? What are the costs of staying at the crossroads and not making a decision? Which path am I committed to taking?
God bless,
Dan
